Support contract for IMPRS doctoral students

Doctoral students at the IMPRS-QST will receive a so called "support contract", which allows the scientific freedom of a grant combined with the social security of an employment contract. Doctoral students can devote themselves to their scientific work independently and without restriction.

The agreed working hours are currently 39 hours per week. Payment is based on the German TVöD, "Collective Wage Agreement for the Civil Service". Doctoral students with a support contract receive compensation corresponding to 65% percent of Pay Group 13 of TVöD (maximum level 2); this is currently around 2,600 euros before taxes.

Upgrades to the contract are possible through teaching and other activities and may vary depending on the research group.
