Mission Statement
The Munich area has a strong and uniquely broad standing in quantum science and technology. It has an internationally visible and strong research community distributed among the Max Planck Institute of Quantum Optics, the Ludwig-Maximilians-Universität München the Technichal University of Munich. All three institutions actively participate in the IMPRS for Quantum Science and Technology, joining their expertise in complementary aspects of this research field in an interdisciplinary, professional and coherent manner.
Graduate training at the IMPRS-QST
Our aim is to recruit outstanding students and offer them a structured doctoral program which combines thesis research with an exceptional graduate education in the area of quantum science and technology.
As a student at our IMPRS, you will focus on a scientific project. Guided by a supervisor you will be able to develop independent research at the highest quality level. Also, you will benefit from a wide range of lectures, seminars and special events such as summer schools in QST. Finally, a set of transferable skills courses completes the program. More details on the elements of our graduate training program can be found in this section.
Fields of research and research groups
In the section Research and Training, you will find more information on the fields of research covered by the IMPRS QST and a list of the participating groups and principal investigators.
